What is this?

This is a blog where I'll be writing up any dreams I feel I'm awake enough to write about. I may even do some analysis.

Treat this as a Dream Diary, basically.

8th July 19 - Howler

I am given the role of giant hunter. I don't want to be a giant hunter, and I don't know why I'm being given the role of giant hunter, but this is the only explanation I'm given for being ripped out of my own reality and flung into the far future.

Disjointed images, everything different shades of green, a girl who seems to know more than her age might suggest tells me to keep hold of two items that she gives me, one for each hand. They're small orange whips, and they're used for casting ice magic. I'm so disoriented that I lose one immediately, I'm being taken through the green lens of time and space and it's presumably gone forever.

It's dark now, black and green, the green still bright and now solid, reaching high up on three sides of me. "Here is where the ice magic is best used," explains the girl. we're in-between the green toes of a giant, and this is where we strike. Ice magic materialises with several crunches and I'm tumbling through green space and time once more, no comprehension of where or how.

I'm in the far future now, though it's hard to tell. A megacity, stretching miles high and further wide. All green and overgrown by a tropical jungle, trains suspended in midair on just the railings travelling along wide and impossibly deep avenues. I can't quite comprehend distances or scale and retreat back to a close building. Green everything again.

I'm made sport of by the locals of this era, demented parties where they play games I don't know the rules to and find impossible to compete in. I can't get away though, I have nowhere to run to. The girl appears every so often, as if to guide me but ultimately she is of no help.

I'm given a puzzle. Enter a building locked by a sliding timer, and retrieve a few items from two mounds in the rear yard. I open the timer with my orange whip and discover I can re-open it from the inside, removing any time obligations. It's a green house with a green yard, no plants or grass though. Two mounds of dirt as tall as I but twice in diameter sit on the yard floor. They're covered in a clear tarpaulin and there are a couple of holes on each about the size of my fist - entry points.

I'm to collect large jewels hidden inside the mounds, but it's not so simple. There's rustling under the tarpaulin and I eventually discover that they're guarded by a howler monkey. This howler monkey is a viscous shit and attacks me without warning. I can feel the burning amusement of those future denizens as they watch and laugh, not even caring to pay full attention. The monkey is ferocious in it's attempts to bite and claw, and I struggle to prevent any damage. I grab it's throat hoping it would stop the onslaught, but it only makes it worse.

I run, being attacked relentlessly, back through the house, sliding open the lock and flinging the monkey as far as I can. It gives up attacking me and lopes off into the distance. I half heartedly try to follow, 'I can't leave something like that to go out and hurt people can I?' before remembering the mounds. I head back inside and pause in the empty green kitchen before I do.

The furniture is all wooden, old wooden table, chairs, cupboards, drawers, counters, and there's nothing adorning any of it. I open one of the drawers to find a few books and leaflets, they're all trash though, and the books feel completely devoid of meaningful content, as if they were video game shelf-fillers.

I head back into the yard to find the mounds still there but looking different. There are people playing tennis nearby and not giving a shit about any peril I may have been in. I turn my attention back to the mounds and discover that the defence this time is the job of multiple large insects. They look like red ants, but about two inches long and featuring a fat claw blade each. I get close and to my horror realise they have placed another mound on the floor, disguised so I would not see it.

I fall into the tarpaulin and soil, feeling numerous mega-ants frenzy and cover me, doing their best to bite and slice. I shriek, moving as quick as I can to regain my balance and to fling and swat as many ants as I can away from me. I get away from the mound and remove the last of the terrifying swarm from me. The girl is back, she informs me that I'm unhurt, but that I have numerous shallow cuts, which sounds just great.

I woke up.

6th July 19 - Aquarium

I'm in a dingy and dark dormitory. Rows of empty beds suggest that people aren't currently around, though I am here with at least one other. His name is Heboric, and he is a burly bald guy who I get the feeling has some sort of mental deficiency. I head outside, it's a bright day in a small but very close-built village. The person running the dormitory is nearby. I'm not sure if he's in charge of us, owns us, or just responsible for us, but it seems he has the power to decide who is let out, and Heboric has been told he is not allowed out today.

I catch up with the boss, and it turns out it's Mr Burns. I ask him if Heboric would be allowed out today and the response is a simple 'no'. I decide the best way to overturn this is to be an annoying twat and start singing loudly and making banging noises. It works, and Burns says he can leave, great!

I head back to the dormitory and try to tell him the good news, I can't quite say his name correctly though. My brain keeps slipping back to a friend's name (H) instead, and there is somewhat of a similar feel between them. I get it right and let him know he can leave. As I do so it seems I'm annoying some people who are present. Looking around it turns out that the dormitory is just half of the large room I'm in, the other half seems like some sort of modern conference room and has a few people milling about performing financial work. There's a girl in a red dress who is looking at me with minor irritation, so Heboric and I leave promptly.

We head out into the town and wander about. It's just small alleyways and the occasional market stall with very few people around. I do come across a few more friends (J&L), and J tells me that there's something really interesting just round the corner. I continue on and find another stall, this one is selling toy bow and arrow sets, which I think it pretty cool. I search through them all and try to find a good cheap one, but they're all very childish unfortunately. J catches up and tells me that this isn't what he meant, and that the interesting thing is further on.

I continue on further and eventually hit an alleyway with a door at the end. We head in and a co-worker (Pa) is inside sat on a couch smiling at me. It's a small white room with some generic furniture, the couch is facing the wall directly opposite which features a massive aquarium.

The aquarium stretches from the ceiling to about 1 foot from the floor, where it rests on a small section of wall, it covers the entire wall from side to side. It's a light blue and there are only a few small fishes swimming in it, but it's incredibly striking. The more I stare at it the more I feel that something is off about it, and I wonder if the other side is in fact  an alternate reality. I start becoming somewhat convinced that it's actually a mirror dimension, where everything is completely swapped, and the idea that it's right in front of me starts to consume me.

I'm snapped out of my concentration when J and Heboric start pushing wedges of wood into the sides of the aquarium, presumably to see if it moves. Whilst they do so I start playing with some black thread and a needle, throwing it at the aquarium for some reason. Enough wood is being pushed into the sides of  the aquarium, that it starts to move slowly backwards. I get tense wondering what is about to happen, as it starts tipping backward. The aquarium finally reaches the tipping point and topples backward, shattering on the floor behind and sending glass and water everywhere.

It turns out the room behind is just a regular room, the aquarium wasn't hiding any secret alternate realities at all, and we all realise that we'll be in some big trouble if we stay here. We scarper back out the way we came and head back into the maze of alleyways, eventually emerging on some sort of main road. There's a billboard here offering payment for dragon eggs, depending how old they are. 1 day old 700, 2 days 900, 3 days 1400. It seems dragon eggs sell based on how much time has been put into them, and I remark to J that it's not much money, before realising that dragons are (apparently?) very common these days. I actually have a hatched dragon back at the dormitory I believe, though I don't recall knowing this 5 minutes ago.

I start to consider that the dormitory building has enough space to house a dragon hatching area and recall once again that it actually does have a dragon hatching space. It's a steam room below the dormitory filled with eggs getting enough heat for incubation.

I woke up.

5th July 19 - Plan

I'm in a convenience store. I say convenience store instead of the UK equivalent because it feels rather American in here, though I'm not sure it is. It's clean and bright, and I think it might be night outside. I'm looking at snacks, though I'm not intending to buy any.

A clerk comes over, he's a friend of mine IRL (H), though I think we only have a passing level of familiarity here. He asks if he can help me with anything, and I respond by suggesting I'm looking for something that I know I won't find here - flaming hot monster munch. He starts looking over the crisps and the chocolate and he's like 'well we don't have them but here are some similar options', but I'm quick to suggest that they're all not good enough.

Another clerk comes over that I feel I know in a similar manner to the first. It's Henry Rollins IRL though. He suggests we just recreate the flavour by using alternative methods, pointing out that a bar of orange chocolate will get the job done. I don't like this allegedly very sensible suggestion and try to pass it off again.

It's worth nothing that there are three staff and myself in the store. Henry, H, and someone else that I haven't interacted with. Henry goes to the far side of the store and indicates to H that it's time for the plan. I'm walloped to the floor by some seriously heavy metal poles, dropped from across the store. The same then happens to a surprised H, before Henry leaves and the shop explodes.

I'm fine, H is not. The plan was to use me to have a corpse in a dead shop, but Henry and I decided to stage my demise and have H be the sacrificial pawn instead. Somehow, despite being struck by some heavy metal and then being in a store that explodes, I'm perfectly fine. I head outside and walk down the road, and start watching a TV from a nearby store (in another weirdly American fashion).
Henry has sent a terrorist-like video to the media which is now being played. He's claiming responsibility for the bombing whilst lying down on a bed with no top on, his legs flat but his torso held up by planting his arms. 'Stage one of the plan is complete,' I think.

I woke up.

24th June 19 - Jungle

I am in a dense tropical jungle with brilliant green foliage. It's nowhere near as hot as it should be though. I seem to have a top down map of the area in my head, and decide to head to the top right part of it, to an area I feel might be closed or off-limits.

I get there and find a mountain pass, brown rock extending sharply upwards to the left bordering a narrow trail, with a cliff edge descending off to the right. It's late night and hard to see, but I can tell that the pass is off limits because of a large amount of boulders blocking it off. I feel like I can still get around the blockage though, and basically try a 'jump' over the empty space to the right, which actually works and I find myself on the other side.

I find that it's day on this side, and I can see a wide-ranging Savannah stretching out to the horizon. Something feels off though, and I realise after a few moments that it's because of a lack of animals. Specifically a lack of Elephants and Giraffes. I turn to the side and see a large fancy hotel-type building and realise there is a holiday resort here planted in the middle of nowhere. The lack of animals must be because of the resort, and I decide to side with the animals and try to restore the area to it's former beauty.

I get the feeling that I shouldn't be here though, the fact that the path was blocked off makes me think that this area is a 'higher level' or is of a further progression than I should be at. Nevertheless, I infiltrate the resort, and do my best to act like I belong there. It's clean and new in there, fully air-conditioned which feels great. Staff walk around in red t-shirts, and most seem content to ignore me. I don't recall the details, but eventually I am spotted though and have to make a hasty retreat. The job here seems to difficult for now.

I head back into the dark jungle and make my way towards an area I believe I can have an influence over. I get the impression that it has something to do with ants, and I can vividly see a mental image of a huge mound of swarming blue ants that my brain tells me are 'Diamond Ants'. I'm not sure what the objective is, but I'll help them out anyway.

I make my way through more of the dense foliage, and start seeing a lot of vivid bright colours ahead and to the sides of me. As I continue on I can start to hear music, and eventually I enter a small clearing. Everything around me is bright and swirling with colour, and in front of me is a small stage with what appears to be a strange looking Noel Gallagher playing music on. He's playing Black Star Dancing, which is a pretty good song. Eventually he stops playing and we begin to have a chat, apparently we know each other.

Noel starts to tell me about a local tribe that used to be active around here. They fell into bad times when they started to introduce women's football apparently. Noel shows me some videos on an old portable TV/VCR set that you'd find in old classrooms. The quality of the football is actually really good, and I comment to Noel that this is exactly how I try to play when I play FIFA.

I start trying to help the village by rearranging cardboard representations of the original buildings into a coherent shape. It takes a few tries to get it right, especially when trying to include an awkwardly sized football pitch. Somehow my rearrangement seems to have translated to the village itself, and I can see a few of the incredibly stereotypical tribes-people start to make their way back into the area as a result.

Everything seems to have gone down rather well actually. There's no women's football being played yet, so I don't know how that will go down. I also have no idea what this has to do with the Diamond Ants, but I'm willing to roll with it till the end. The tribe start throwing a party, with more flashing trippy lights and nice music. I join in with the revelry, dancing away without a care in the world. I decide at this point it would be a good moment to tell Noel that I fancy trying the tribe's sacred fruit (which I'm picturing as a juicy pear).

The revelry immediately stops, and there are angry reactions from the majority of the tribe. Several start yelling at me, and several stand next to me and yell back at the others. It feels like a massive brawl is about to break out, purely because I want to try this fruit. Things start getting angrier and angrier...

I woke up.

23rd June 19 - Coral

I am in a factory, a large brick structure with a three-story ceiling and metal pipes of varying sizes lining the walls. The floor-space is filled with desks, which are in turn filled with staff doing various officey jobs. I am walking around, I believe that I work here.

A lady calls me over from a few desks away, and I head over. She requires my expertise, which is not surprising to me. What is surprising, is that what she needs help with is analysing a weird crystal. It is shaped like a large slice of pizza, but is white with colourful inclusions. I realise that it is an ocean formation, something similar to coral but not. A long time ago there were strange living carpets on the ocean floor, these crystallised over many years to end up as these very pretty pizza slices.

I'm aware of some kind of commotion outside, and so I leave the factory-warehouse. It's a dreary cold day, drizzling from a dark overcast sky. The factory-warehouse building looks to be on a grassy hill, nothing else in sight. I continue up the hill to discover that it ends in a cliff overlooking a mildly tumultuous sea.

I am aware of various entities in the sea. One is heading towards another, and I can tell that the trouble is between them. I feel like some kind of law enforcement, but maybe a paranormal oceanic division version. The two entities have humanoid bodies, but I don't believe either are human. I am also aware of more of the living carpet in the sea, and feel like I would rather be fishing them up. Instead, I fish up the two entities as they reach each other.

I pull them onto land, they both seem male and angry. One has grey loose pants and a naked upper torso, long brown hair streaming next to a dour face. The other is featureless, or at least I can't recall what he looks like. The blank man walks away, and I ask the dour man what the problem is. I get the feeling immediately that this guy is also in some sort of ocean paranormal law enforcement type job, though I don't know him.

He tells me that the guy walking away has made a blood sacrifice on an altar, though to who or what he doesn't know. We start walking hurriedly towards the blank man to get further information.

I woke up.

21st June 19 - Family

I am chilling at my house, apparently living with my dad and my sister. The house is one I used to live at, with my dad, but not for a good 15 years at least. The house has grey and white walls and a grey-blue carpet, very dull. To complete the picture of dullness, I start playing video games on an old grey TV.

I don't get on well with my sister at all, and the fact that I'm living with her is making me quite annoyed. I'm keeping it in though, and trying to distract myself with some gaming. I believe the game I'm playing is a PS2 game, perhaps Gran Turismo 3, but I'm not certain.

Eventually my sister does what she always does: starts to antagonise me. She jumps up behind me and starts yelling at me whilst trying to grapple me to the ground for some completely unknown reason. My dad watches from the sideline whilst I get out from her wrestling, getting more and more angry. Can you believe she's 5 years older than me?!

Eventually I throw her off, no harm done but I am livid now. My dad pulls her off to one side and starts having a quiet conversation with her. "You're meaner and angrier than her, but 'author' is stronger and smarter, so you would never win this sort of thing". The name he calls me isn't 'author' nor is it my real name, it's a name that is incredibly personally insulting and he doesn't correct himself afterwards. This angers me even more, and I get back to my game to try and calm down.

My dad comes over to me, and his attitude doesn't seem quite right. I get the feeling that he's been talking to someone, though I'm not sure who. Maybe my granddad, but since he's been dead for 18 years I find this unlikely. My dad suggests that I have been more confrontational recently, and that I have been directing conflict to suit my own outcome in conversation. He also says that he won't stand for it any longer.

My response is to react angrily. I have just been attacked by my sister, unprovoked. My dad then insulted me, and is now telling me I am the one with a problematic attitude that needs sorting? He takes my response as more evidence for his argument, suggesting I'm responding this way to guilt trip him in some sort of manipulative fashion. This is the final straw.

I start collecting my things together. My grey coat (more bloody grey!), a laptop bag, a backpack full of clothes, a somewhat larger bag of clothes, and an acoustic guitar. I somehow collect all of this together while my sister and my dad continue to agitate me. I then leave the house with the intention of not coming back. I get the feeling this won't go down well, and that they will just follow me and make my life miserable, so I set off in a random direction as quickly as I can, wondering what to do.

I'm in Cardiff. I know this though nothing around me is in any way suggestive of the real Cardiff. I seem to be in an out-of-town area with a few warehouses and business parks, a weird place for a house. I decide to ring for a taxi, though I am aware that my finances aren't in the best of shape. I just need to get away from this place. It's a bit overcast on a warm day and my coat is a bit much, but I can manage for now.

I ring a taxi company and a lady picks up. Immediately things begin to get confusing. She asks me if I'm ringing from a mobile, which I confirm. Somehow I'm showing up as having a different mobile number which has caused an inconsistency in their software. "Have you booked with us before?" she asks. I'm not sure, maybe? "You shouldn't be ringing on a mobile to book anyway, it doesn't work," she continues. She then suggests I try texting, and when I ask how she means, it sounds like she starts laughing to some coworkers, so I just hang up.

I've been walking along some large roads at this point and have gotten to a Subway that is blaring out incredibly loud dance music. I'm not far from a large shopping centre, which I believe is near town anyway, so I continue on and think of who to ring next. I have a friend that lives in Cardiff (SH) and decide to ring her. I do so and she answers with a "Hello hello," in a perfect recreation of Lois' voice from Family Guy. I realise it's my friend and that it's a put-on, I immediately compliment her on it, as it is rather impressive. We talk and she continues to switch between her regular voice and her Lois voice.

I enter the shopping centre at this point. Creamy marble floors and walls, a skylight up top, vibrant clean shops. This place seems very new and feels almost Mediterranean in style. I continue talking to my friend and ask her if she can guess where I am. She has no clue so I answer with "Norway!" She seems rather impressed, and I can hear her boyfriend in the background also sounding very impressed. I'm not in Norway though, and have no idea why that's where I say I currently am. I explain this to her, and she seems somewhat confused but willing to roll with my apparent quirykness. I start walking down some stairs onto a lower level of this shopping centre and I correct myself on the phone, explaining that I'm actually in Cardiff.

I woke up.

Thursday 20 June 2019

20th June 19 - Skate

I am patrolling a large building complex, it is apparently my job. It seems it is early evening, the sky turning a grey blue, the weather not being important enough to notice. The buildings I'm patrolling between are old red brick, large sprawling things with added wings and removed areas all over the place, serving to create a delightful hodgepodge of strange architecture.

To traverse this site, I'm skateboarding. There are small rooftops I'm ollieing onto and curved buildings I'm using as quarter pipes. I'm not brilliant at it but I'm never usually this good, intending things and mostly doing them. It's quite good fun. Eventually though, I attempt ramping up a building only to see my board fly off into the distance, dropping down onto the lower levels.

I know the lower levels are bad, but I don't think I've been down to them yet. I hurry through several old brick-sided passages, down sets of stairs, in and out of the intriguing buildings. I eventually end up at a nondescript grey door, a rear entrance to the lower level.

I go through, and note that the architecture is much the same, there are just the occasional chain link fences though, and the floor is a dirty concrete. Actually there's not much rubbish down here, which I expected. It might be a bit grotty but it seems to be tidy.

I can't see my board where I believe it landed, and I somehow know that 'Lily' will have it. I head further along until I enter a clearing within the buildings. More of the large brick buildings to my left, but a long chain link fence to my right with barbed wire on top. The fence leads to a gate of a similar style, and at the gate are a couple of guards on the other side, a small woman on this side.

The woman is dirty, she looks like she is probably homeless, and I come to be aware that the lower levels are full of people without any other place to go. It's Lily, and she appears hostile to me. She's angry about something, the living conditions down here perhaps? I care, but not enough; I'm here for my skateboard. I think I yelled at her, pure intimidation tactic. It works though and she reluctantly hands me back my board.

The guards let me leave via the gate, I head back up, this time to the front entrance. This place is a maze but I know my way around fine it seems. I meet up with a coworker, a lady with black curly hair, her skin a dark brown. We continue patrolling, with me skating every so often whilst we talk.

Eventually we make our way back inside at the main entrance. There's another girl who looks very similar to the friend I'm walking with, her sister or daughter perhaps? She seems shy and I've never met her before, so I do my whole 'let's be over the top friendly to not come off as creepy whilst probably coming off as creepy' routine. We leave via a few more corridors, these ones internal, old white painted walls, faded red carpets, tall ceilings, and winding passages from various alterations in the building over the years.

I start talking about how I actually used to live here with my dad, just in these front rooms. It was a while back, but it's nostalgic to me to walk through them. We reach the front, and it's turned quite dark outside. My friend says her goodbye and leaves in a direction I don't plan on heading. I explain to the awkward one where I live and in which direction I'll be heading in, she will be travelling with me it seems.

I live on the other side of the town, meaning I head through a built up and busy area at night. I talk with my companion and I feel the awkwardness begins to dissipate between us thankfully. There's a strange tone I keep hearing as we head through town, and it seems it's people making bell tones, in a bid to guess what tone a real bell will make. We walk past the bell itself (the Liberty Bell apparently), it's only 2 foot tall, awkwardly painted blue, and guarded by a bored looking police officer.

I assume I make it home okay and time passes on normally here because the next thing I remember, I'm back in the complex at work the following morning. I'm working the lower levels today it seems, which makes me feel rather uncomfortable. I'm struck by a sudden need to find something out and I'm not quite sure what that is. There are a few shareholders dotted around today, nondescript people looking to ensure things are running smoothly.

I start to interact with one of the denizens of the lower level, he's an older man with a whitening beard. He leads me to a storage locker filled with packets of food. He indicates that if I'm hungry that's what I need. The 'hunger' he refers to is in relation to the answers I need. I start sifting through packet after packet, slowly getting more frustrated and desperate at the lack of answers. Most of the packets are out of date and seem repulsive to be which is stressing me out more. I turn away from the locker wondering what to do next...

I woke up.

19th June 19 - Antlers

I'm going through school, only this time things are a little bit different. I have a skill tree that I can put points into, granting skills, powers, and abilities. Apparently I have massively misjudged how to choose a path though if the casual bullying is any indicator.

I start again, I'm at school, lessons are boring and easy. I plan a path out, I want the points that give me the greatest flexibility in abilities, and I want them ASAP.

As I play along I come across my friend (T) who is late level. He's a dog elemental and is just chilling with a bunch of dogs, a placid smile on his face. He has grown some incredibly long hair and has the beard to match. He also has a pair of giant antlers sticking out of his head, easily two meters across from tip to tip. The antlers have a curtain of sleek, straight hair falling from them to the floor.

I get the points that I want but lose interest. I'm playing FIFA now, but not really concentrating. I concede a goal which is rather annoying to me. What's more annoying is seeing the realistic celebrations of Jurgen Klopp on screen, I believe I'm playing a champions league final. I stop playing, whilst complaining to a friend over Skype.

I decide to check Facebook. Another friend of mine (Ja) has uploaded a picture of him and a child of his coming down a slide on a dark wintry day. His caption is 'this is the greatest day of my life so far', but I'm not sure I believe it as I recall him saying that with another picture very recently.

I see a message addressed to me, my manager (C) has asked me if I know what's happened to a catheter that was sent to my address by accident. This confuses me a lot - why would they be mailing a catheter? I realise I've misread though and the message is actually addressed to someone else.

I woke up.

17th June 19 - Presents

I am walking along a canyon, dusty orange stone around me, warm clear blue sky creating a nice contrast. I have several friends with me (J&H&Bu&Du), and we're talking about the plans for the holiday we are about to go on.

We continue walking and talking until we get to J's parents house, which is just an open part of the canyon somehow. Almost as if to prove that this is their house, his dad wanders by in a pair of speedos. The others start playing a game I am unfamiliar with; they're throwing a knobbly black ball down through a square cut hole in the floor, and whoever is below is trying to bounce it back up by hitting the floor.

I stay up top and watch the game only for my Nan to appear. She has been dead for a year but here she is and she's bringing presents, which I feel I should have remembered was happening somehow.

I open the first. It's flat and bendy, it turns out it is a Digimon video game on some sort of tablet that moves and feels like hard cloth. Underneath is another of the strange tablets, this time with a Lego video game on. The tablets are bright blue and feel like they are made from the same plastic weave of an IKEA bag.

I am genuinely pleased with those, I feel like I really underestimated my Nan, but there are more presents to go. One is a steering wheel for the PC (I have one of those already, whoops), and the last of another game, this one about university.

I'm genuinely pleased with this university game too, and my Nan requests to see it. I set it up and start going through the starter menus. Which uni do I pick? Well if it's a first game, clearly an easy one, which means getting rid of my first two choices of Cardiff and somewhere else. I settle on a university and start playing.

I'm in a long corridor in what feels like an old fashioned representation of a university. There are lockers all along one wall, and on the other wall are a row of empty divided spaces. The spaces remind me of the dog spaces you are allocated at a dog show, just enough room for a crate/cage. I feel like these are the allocated living spaces, though I'm not quite sure how that could be.

I'm gaining points just stood here, just being in university is enough to count as working and studying, but I'm aware my points are going down every so often and I'm not sure why. I decide to look around and walk along the corridor to the bathroom. I am looking for secrets, or some sort of message I say to my Nan, the bathroom or shower stalls will have them, I'm sure.

The bathroom complex is vast and non gender specific. There aren't many people around, but I do see a few ladies showering, and a few men heading to and fro the urinals nearby. I hastily move on until I find a shower stall with a door. I head inside and find no graffiti or messages anywhere. I'm definitely expecting something though, so I stay and eventually someone walks up to the door and knocks (da, da da da, da... da da), before chuckling (in a man's voice) before walking away.

I decide to leave the bathroom area, and head back to the place I started. There's a man and a girl there waiting for me. The man is tall, dark skin, fluffy black hair, he seems like staff. The girl is short, blonde hair tied in a bun, with striking eyeliner. She reminds me of Veruca from Buffy. She seems like a student, maybe 19, 20, which is shortly confirmed.

The man says that to prevent my points from going down I would need to attend lectures periodically, and that the unnamed girl would show me the ropes. He leaves us to it, and the girl who's name I never hear nor do I ever ask, doesn't really give me much in the way of any signals as to what we should do next.

We walk and take in the uni. As stated earlier, it seems old or old fashioned. Cold tiled floors, yellow stone pillars everywhere, tall cold ceilings, lacquered brick walls. It's starting to get quite busy now, with students going from place to place, others milling and chatting.

I come across a group of huddled students, one of them getting the focus of attention. It's a friend of mine (Is), and he's interaction with four floating screens. Moving his hands over them is producing various musical notes, and I recognise them quickly as being piano - he's using these screens to learn piano somehow quicker than normal.

I don't get to learn anything about the process at all as a large posee of older adults appears. I think they are staff. They are all wearing bland suits, apart from the leader, who is wearing what appears to be a tie-dye coloured suit. It's Lee Mack and he doesn't look happy. Whatever Is is doing is presumably not allowed here, and the mob looms close, poised to act.

I woke up.

16th June 19 - Plan

Infiltration, somebody bad had wormed their way into my family. They were sowing discord and forcing me out. I sneak home, the place I go is not really my home though.

It's evening, the sun having just gone down, I've entered the house. I know the infiltrator is inside somewhere, though so they know my intentions? We meet in the living space and I am unable to hide my dislike for them, in a way which tips them off that something is wrong. Before they have a chance to get away I pull a gun and aim it at them.

Their hands raised, they attempt to talk me out of this path, I don't think they believe I will actually shoot though. I do.

One shot, entering through the forehead, killing them instantly. A wave of relief hits me, their destructive influence won't be taking hold anymore.

I pick up a cordless phone, it's white and blocky, clearly quite old. I ring 911 because apparently that's the police here. I speak to a female operator, I tell her that I've just killed someone, and then my location. I don't think she quite believes me until I start sobbing into the phone. Am I crying because of what I've done, or because I believe that's what should be done?

I hear sirens and open the front door, am old fashioned saloon car-turned limo pulls up. It's white, sparkly, and has sirens. It reminds me of the Ghostbusters ambulance, just elongated. I hang up the phone, saying that people have arrived, the operator saying something inconsequential but urgent as I throw the phone away.

I get into the limo, it's a team of people that I'm aware of. Are they superheros? Maybe unpowered heroes with lots of money, doing what they can to stop crime? I'm not sure, but they seem to want to welcome me into the team and I'm happy enough to go along with them.

The limo raises into the sky and somehow becomes some sort of jet. We're heading out of the town I live in, to a distant city. A mountain comes up in front of us as we pass over a body of water. I'm told that the base is inside, then we're suddenly rocked by a large impact.

We've been fired at, something is attempting to shoot us out of the sky. One of the wings has been torn off, and the vehicle is pitching wildly from side to side. Repeated shots are made, we are avoiding them as best as we can, but the other wing also gets shot off. Inside I am reassured by a woman, light brown/blonde hair, the vehicle can handle much worse.

Indeed we're basically a rocket at this point with charred nubs our stabilising flaps. We head straight into the mountain, a large door opening in the rock face to let us inside. The impact is less than easy as we crash into the hangar and slide across the floor. We evacuate immediately and one of the heroes runs back towards the hangar doors as they haven't closed yet. He manages to manipulate some sort of energy field which protects us whilst the doors are open, and lets him close the doors in the process.

We are safe inside the hideout, and I begin to head inside. Something feels wrong though, and I realise it's my feeling that someone might have infiltrated this base. I head down winding corridors, metal panels and pipes lining the walls. I wonder who is at fault for this and come to an easy conclusion. Kingpin.

I woke up.

15th June 19 - Bramble

It's a hot summery day, nary a cloud in the sky. I'm in a large featureless car park surrounding a LIDL, the edges of the car park giving way to gravel then grass. It seems mostly full of cars and there are a few people going to and from the store. I head towards the store with the intention of purchasing things.

I get in, grab a basket, and immediately things are feeling somewhat off. I'm having trouble reading the labels to a few items, I'm feeling clumsy and uncoordinated. Am I too low on energy, have I been in the sun too long? I make my way around the store, which turns out to be rather difficult as there are so many people inside. It's actually producing a small amount of claustrophobia in me, so many bodies tightly pressed in.

I make it through the crowd and get to the till. The conveyor is running non stop, so as I'm unloading my groceries they are pushing up at the front and making an awkward day even worse. The employee doesn't seem to notice nor care about the awkward pile up, and starts scanning things through. I am very flustered and can't seem to pack properly, so I'm just awkwardly and roughly shoving things into my backpack.

The lady serving me says that she expects 18 and 19. I'm not really sure what she means, but as she rings up the full amount, I see it has come to £81.19. Close, she says. I applaud her guess and start pulling out cash. It seems I have a few unorthodox notes here. There are a few £10 and £20 notes, I also weirdly have a blue £40 note, and a couple of £50s. I get out the £40 and see that it is an Isle of Man note, and I know it won't be accepted. Turning it over, the printing is messed up and slanted, probably a fake even if it were a real note. I apologise for taking so long and try my best to calculate what I need, this simple level of maths is really taking it's toll on my addled brain.

I eventually hand over enough, get my change, and head out of here. The signs for the exit are confusing me, and I stand there gawking like a lemon. What is this place doing to me? I figure out where to leave and pass an ice cream cooler. I'm sorely tempted, it's a hot day outside, but I doubt they'd have any vegan options. I continue on outside.

Back in  the car park, I can see my dad, and also my dad. He seems to be here twice, wearing different clothes, and is taking a picture of himself. I start walking with him/them away from the store, and tell them that I've heard about some competitions going on at the beach, wondering if they were interested. The beach is too far away they say, from wherever it is we are, and the competition could be in the sea, so it's not worth the hassle of getting there.

I walk away, heading up a nearby grassy hill. As I get to the top, I have to narrowly avoid a child as he swings a bat to his a ball thrown by someone that is presumably his father. I carry on, atop the hill. it is grassy in a way that suggests this area is mowed every so often, though there are a few wild looking trees making this seem unlikely. I consider that this would be a good place to play a game of football or something, I think I have friends nearby. I see a few long green brambly vines stretching across the centre of an open area, and decide they will need to be cleared away. Cutting them off at the source will probably be easier, so I head in the direction I believe they're coming from, starting down another side of the hill.

It seems two of my friends are there playing football (J+H). I head down, there are more of the spiny vines down here, I'm clearly heading in the right direction. My friends join me as we walk on. It's starting to get darker, and we're heading into an urban area. In fact, it's feeling very wintry here, there's snow on some of the buildings. We head further in and find that the vines are getting more concentrated, close to the central point. I believe they are a source of some power, to have stretched so far away. And for what reason were they stretching?

There are a few unconcerned locals pottering about. I see an old housemate once again (D) and two other locals are asking him if he still sees his kid any more, implying that he doesn't, and judging him for that. He looks uncomfortable and leaves.

I find a vine that I think could be the controlling one. I throw something at it, causing several things to happen. Some of the vines lash out towards certain people, and it seems that some of these people were in fact super-powered. A brawl erupts and people are flying through the air, people knocking other people into buildings, flashes of blue light. One man; bald, grey skin, white eyes surrounded by black lines, a blue tightly covered outfit - he gets thrown back through the street and into a building....

I woke up.

15th June 19 - Pep

I was attending a football match, Manchester City versus some unknown team. I was on the sidelines, presumably a member of the managers staff. The match was being played at a training ground, or some sort of astro-turf laid location. Not many people were in the crowd, but the manager gave me the impression that the game was still very important.

In fact, Pep is very agitated. Things aren't going our way in game, refereeing decisions mostly, and Pep starts complaining. He elaborates that the game is so silent because our fans have been told they cannot cheer as it was providing us with too much of an advantage. I decide to get out of here, but I believe I took something important with me when I left.

I make my way out onto the road outside and immediately realise I am being pursued. It's a lovely day, not many clouds, rather warm. Not much traffic, but I'm aware I need to get away from this location fast, no time to enjoy the day. Something tells me that those pursuing me are agents of Alex Ferguson, they're driving FBI style black SUVs, and I can tell getting away won't be easy.

I don't recall much of the chase, but I managed to give them the slip, ending up in a research lab, perhaps military owned. It's dark, just being illuminated by the blue light coming from various computer screens.

I wake up.

I start writing the details of my dream into my phone, so that I can start writing my dream journal later. I've surprised myself by remembering so much, it hasn't gone well the last two nights. I write for a long while and then head downstairs.

My cousin (R) is waiting for me there. He has a bag full of old XBOX 360 games, one of them is a Man City footballing game. Of course, the dream I had last night was probably because of this game. He asks me if I want to buy it off him, but there is no way I would. I don't have a console for starters, but it's just not a good game. He looks let down, I think he is struggling for money. I tell him to sell it at CEX but he's of the opinion that they won't offer him anywhere near enough money for it. Which is fair enough.

I woke up.

14th June 19 - Message

6 prisoners. Bathed in blood, wounds festering, arms outstretched as they reach towards me. As they perhaps reach to get away? From the prison they were locked away at. Something has gone horribly wrong.

6 prisoners, now dead, bathed in blood, some of it probably not their own. And 6 messages sent.

Help?

I woke up.

I guess that's the dream you get when you wake up early after playing Doom all evening.

13th June 19 - Arena

I was talking to two friends of my dad, telling them about surgery I'd had last year. I asked what time they think I actually went into the theatre, and they didn't really know nor probably care. I began to tell them the tale... Only it wasn't quite about my surgery.

Between Liverpool and Warrington there was a less travelled route, heading north. To the hospital. Getting there was difficult, though I don't recall why, only that the journey itself was important.

Inside the hospital was an illicit arena. Mage combat, with slavery and pure brutality. It was all very cold-castle-dungeon style, with flaming torches providing light.

The hospital/surgery story sort of disappeared here and I think I was trying to talk about a tv series I was watching whilst in hospital. Some sort of combination of Dr Who and Buffy. I said to my dad's friends that I'd been watching it for so many years and felt really let down by the direction this show took.

Back at the arena, which it seems was part of this TV show, brutal fights were getting underway. One really tall fellow with full blackened plate armour and a tall rectangular shield about 5 foot in length started advancing on someone wearing basically clothes and armed with a dagger.

The dagger guy tried to dart around the armoured man, but he kept shifting his stance expertly to prevent flanking. Suddenly he lashed forward with his shield, and stabbed the lower edge into the ground, slicing the toes from the dagger guy. He was in a lot of pain, but managed to pull back and started using some sort of black smokey magic. The smoke sidled around armour guy and hit him straight in the back, killing him instantly.

Another fight got underway, this time a group against a group. One of them featured Michael Keaton, who looked to be protecting the others, looking wary and not pleased. He pretty much single handedly fought off a group of thugs, with no armour and only a short sword.

My dad's friends chimed in at this point, they asked if I knew why he was there. I did not, and they explained that his family were enslaved and brought to the arena. He came in to rescue them only to find out they were basically free to leave already but they had decided to stay and enjoy the lifestyle of killing the weak in forced duels. So he stayed to protect them, hating what they had become, hating himself for continuing the violence, and hating himself for hating them.

I could picture the worn out Michael Keaton, holding his sword up to guard the smirking people behind him, looking forlorn and determined at the camera.

I woke up.

11th June 19 - Wave

I was with my mum at her house by the sea. It wasn't her real house of course, but the dream decided it would do. I had some things I wanted to get done today, but my mum suggested we go to a neighbouring town instead. I agreed, as I could theoretically get a few things done there.

We head outside and I begin to get annoyed, as if I know something will test my patience soon. It's summer, but it's quite windy and mostly overcast, so it's a bit chilly. We're in a small village next to the sea, surrounded by sand dunes covered in marram grass. The sea is so close to some buildings that I wonder about how long they'll last there, but they seem old enough.

We get into my mum's land rover and set off, the sun peeking through the clouds every once in a while, warming me up. The town is not far at all, and we pull up on the edge of it. There's a structure, like a thatched bugalow with a giant tree at the front of it, with a few people milling around it. The tree has a large wooden door in it, presumably the entrance to the bungalow.

It seems the people are Liverpool FC supporters, and that there is a gathering happening for some reason. My mum wants to get involved, and I very much don't want to. I tell her as much but she suggests it will be fine and I can get involved easily enough.

Someone called The Father is set to lead the group, and I go to write his name above the door on the tree, before realising that's a stupid thing to do. I say to my mum that I'll stay off to one side, but I'm not getting involved in any way, if she tries to get me involved at all, I will scarper.

It seems the fans are all one big happy family, and The Father appears with a microphone, talking to the crowd of maybe 50 or so people. My mum tells me I should talk and I wonder why the fuck she thinks I would want to do that. Queen's It's a Kind of Magic is playing in the background and the microphone starts being passed around, with the crowd providing a couple of words at a time; "One dream." "One goal." etc.

At this point my mum thinks it's a great idea to grab the mic and force it in my face. I think 'fuck this' and just start running away. A scene is caused by this, adding to my frustration.

I decide to get back to our tiny village, but I knew my mum would come after me. I don't want to deal with her though so I don't stop. I then immediately stop as I see a music shop, I think I can see saxophones on sale and want to just double check how expensive they are. It's empty inside the store, most of the stock and displays are gone. There are no saxophones. There's a lone bass drum and pedal set up on display, the rest of the kit gone. It suddenly kicks and the loud noise freaks me out. It must have been set to automatically play every so often. It kicks again, making me jump a second time, and I head out.

I'm on the outskirts of the town and continue on with my run. I head straight up the nearest dune via a winding sandy and rocky path bordered with a small wooden fence. I'm heading up when all of a sudden there's a cow and calf on the path and I almost run into them. The cow looks threatened and stands her ground above the calf, who is happily munching on some marram grass. I step back and assume a non threatening posture, even if I do feel that my mum is potentially very close behind me.

After a few moments the cow calms down. I give her a friendly scritch and mosey on. I get back to the village and wonder where to go. In my head the map for this place is one used to show what happened on the last booze-fueled night of a now-dead rocker. It doesn't help. There's not many places so I head down the hill to the sea, past my mum's house.

There are a few people at the sea edge. There's a sliver of sand next to the coast road, and the waves look nice and calming. The sun is nearing the horizon, now unobscured. The breeze has died off and it's quite warm now. I get close to the water, only for a large wave to form. I scramble backwards quickly, but it manages to soak most of my legs when it crashes down. The wave stretches over the whole coast road up to the edge of the white painted buildings, I really wonder how long this can last. The sea is powerful and unrelenting.

The wave was great fun though, and I wonder if I still have my old bodyboard somewhere, I feel like I could relax quite easily with an activity like that. I turn back up the street and see my mum at the top of the road.

I woke up.

Monday 10 June 2019

10th June 19 - Vine

I am some sort of superhero. Or at least I'm someone who has powers. I don't currently understand the nature of these powers, only that I have them.

I'm in some sort of castle I believe, it's dark, perhaps nighttime. There are vines settling into the cracks of the blue grey stone, it all seems very old. I'm aware of some sort of recent meeting having taken place in a room nearby. People with powers?

I think I know some of them, and decide to play a prank on them. I don't actually know what the prank was, only that I left very quickly, to give myself room to escape.

I fly quickly across the city, before landing in a suburban alleyway some distance away. I'm aware that two people will likely be on my trail, and that it's best to get a move on, or delay them somehow. The alleyway is covered in plants, I realise this is where I can put my powers to use. I start manipulating the vines and I think I laid some sort of trap or obstacle with them.

My base of round the corner. It's a nondescript officey type building a few stories high. The downstairs is split between a recreation area and an arts studio, which is where I head. A colleague/friend of mine is teaching a group of children painting skills here. I interrupt to ask her for the chances of being caught amongst other things.

I believe she has either a precognition power or a probability one, she tells me that things don't look great.

I dash across the building into the recreation area. My team are lounging around on sofas and having a chill time. I explain the situation and we scurry upstairs. To hide perhaps?

The two females catch up though, and things don't look good. They can fly, and I'm pretty sure they're hella strong too. It turns out that they were pretty impressed with the prank I pulled, and they actually just want to hang out at my place and play the Buffy the Vampire Slayer boardgame.

One member of my team (J) knows there are mysterious secrets associated with the game. He starts puzzling over them. There is a grainy picture on the box of a young girl, apparently nobody knows who she is and that is spooky.

Whilst the boardgame analysis is going on I sneak back outside and enter a superpowered brawl. I beat someone and manage to convert them to my side (strange grey outfit, glowing white with ghostly wings) , I hand them a giant sword and this person's former allies are shooketh.

I woke up.

Sunday 9 June 2019

9th June 19 - Discomfort

I was bunking off work, travelling from place to place. I ended up on a swampy location but things didn't seem quite right.

There were quite a few people travelling in much the same manner, and some were trying these deadly puzzle areas out. Pipes spewing fireballs, and small structures full of hard beam firing robots wearing masks were traversed without much difficulty.

I left the puzzles and met with one of my old housemates. He started to antagonise a nearby person, presumably knowing she would punish him - he is into that kind of thing.

She does start punishing him and, and the weird semi sexual effects are also done to me somehow, whilst I'm sat a good few meters away. I am livid, and have a big argument with him.

In all the punishment, the major surgery I had last year semi-undoes itself in a completely impossible way that leaves me very confused and rather perturbed. I needed the toilet though and that seemed easier to process and focus on.

I went into a large warehouse style building where I knew the nearest toilets were located. A large number of small bald yellowy aliens were moving boxes too and fro, with an old lady (an old coworker?) watching over. One of the aliens was disguised as a small boy and seemed annoyed at me. Maybe because his disguise was rubbish?

I went into the ladies toilets only to discover that the stall walls and doors were pretty much nonexistent, there were even holes going into the men's room. I sit down at a toilet and my hairdresser walks in, staring intensely at her phone, she seems unconcerned with the lack of walls in a very annoying way. I plead with her to sort out the wall situation but she doesn't do much. I can see a man sat in the men's toilet at this point - he waves at me through the holes in the wall.

I resolve to get my business done and get out of here ASAP, only I am once more confused as the toilet paper seems to be a plasticy cloth, multicolored. I get over that and look up to see that the toilets had rearranged so that we were all watching a screen where I think Mario Kart might have been being played.

I finally finished with the toilet and the people left. I decided to try and contact my doctor about the surgery issue via phone. For some reason, the doctor didn't really seem to be that surprised by what had happened, which annoyed me.

I woke up.

8th June 19 - Mech

I was wearing a mech suit, and playing guitar. I'd been pulled into some sort of bad gang, they were plotting nefarious things and I was helpless to follow.

At some point I was given an injection, and it turns out I had been infected with HIV, presumably at the behest of the leader of this group. A leader who to me evokes a Jack Slash type.

The gang was set up on the upper levels of an apartment block in a suburban area, the main colours of the building were red and yellow.

I sent my mech suit off to try and arrange an out of some description from this gang, only to get killed whilst this was happening; a brutal battering death. My awareness was outside of the building at the time - I could almost see a silhouette of the event through the building walls.

My consciousness survived however. There was a mech suit outside piloted by a guy who had a crush on me, he'd done some fancy scan thing and saved my brain, which let me take over his mech suit.

His mech suit was filled with pictures of his kid sister and family. There might have been a picture of me too.

I could only think of revenge at this point, I no longer had anything to lose. I went straight back into the building from the bottom up, via the stairwells. I eventually met my killer/father(?)/leader of this gang.

I attack him using large steel bolts fired from the mech suit, they're attached to steel cables which were attached to other bolts, letting me fire them elsewhere, tearing the originals out of my opponent. As I was tearing him apart, I believe he was both my father and my step mother in one entity, somehow...

I woke up.
